Entry for April 9, 2007
A pleasant day at Stockwood County Fair today - the sun was shining, people were walking about in shorts eating ice cream... but in the Mossman Museum it was absolutely freezing! I basically had to keep jogging about rubbing my hands together to keep warm. At least it keeps the period carriages preserved, I suppose... My stall was next to some vintage Vauxhalls and... Hillmans? Not sure. But every so often a dad would pass by with his young son and shout out, 'Hey, there's my car!' You certainly feel old when you recognise your own past possessions in a museum. We went to Bletchley Park on Saturday and I had a Proustian moment with a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Ah, the feel of the 'dead flesh' keypad! It took me right back to 'Hall of the Things', a cutting edge game where you braved monsters to collect rings (depicted by the letter o). The Spectrum magazine was called '16-48' - as in 16 to 48K of memory. Bless. 2007-04-09 19:28:16 GMT
