I live in Bedfordshire, England, with my husband and two children, a black and white cat called Badger and a bouncy yellow lab called Honey.  I have always loved drawing and painting, and a favour for a friend (a portrait of her mother's three ragdoll kittens) has gradually turned into a business which I love.

After inheriting a box of pastels from my grandmother I have rarely used another medium; I love the textures that can be created, especially for fur and whiskers.  I also love getting my fingers on to the page and getting messy with blending!  My favourite brand is Rowney, as soft as possible, although I also combine this with some harder pastels for detailed work and pastel pencils for those difficult to reach areas.

As far as commissions go, my favourite always starts with a good photograph, lots of details that I can really get my teeth into.  I also love unusual ones such as the guinea pigs and chickens that I did (not together, I should add!).  My goal this year is to do more wildlife paintings from my own photographs and to increase my commissions from last year, so if you are thinking of having a portrait done, do get in touch!
If you would like me to visit your art group for a workshop or demo, please get in touch.

If you would be interested in a
pastels class or classes, please send me your contact details, and if enough people are interested to make a class I will come back to you with more details.
