I live in Bedfordshire and combine my drawing with looking after my two children - and of course my ginger cat! I have been drawing and painting all my life, and I love seeing a subject come to life on the page.
I use only the best quality soft pastels from Rowney, which blend beautifully and give a lovely realistic finish to fur or hair. I use top quality Daler Rowney, Windsor and Newton or Ingres pastel paper with a textured finish.
I tend to specialise in dog portraits, as that seems to be the most popular pet to have painted at the moment, although being a cat owner I'm always pleased to see a feline face. I'm constantly on the look out for unusual portraits to draw, the most interesting so far being a donkey and a cockerel!
I have recently begun to do children's portraits, beginning with my own two, and I am looking forward to expanding into this area.
